Professional recognition
Meaghan has been selected to the Florida Super Lawyers list (Thomson Reuters) each year from 2020 through 2026, after being named to the Florida Rising Stars list in 2018. She has represented professional athletes, business owners and executives, high-net-worth individuals, and everyday families, and she is a firm believer that good representation should not be cost-prohibitive.
Education
A graduate of Florida State University, Meaghan received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (2003). She went on to receive a Master's Degree from Western Michigan University's Behavior Analysis Program (2004) before earning her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law (2008).
Law school and service
While attending Nova Southeastern, Meaghan served as a Guardian Ad Litem and as a Certified Legal Intern for the Children and Families Law Clinic. She received the Certificate of Achievement for Bronze Level of Pro Bono Service, placed second in the ABA Regional Client Counseling Competition, and was the recipient of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers Scholarship, awarded to students exhibiting outstanding academic ability in the area of matrimonial and family law.
Family law practice and teaching
Since graduating from law school, Meaghan has concentrated her practice on marital and family law. Before and alongside the founding of Marro Law, she practiced with South Florida family-law firms including Shelowitz, Coffey & Associates; Barry S. Franklin & Associates; the family and criminal law unit of Kelley Kronenberg and its successor, Swickle & Associates; and Foster-Morales Sockel-Stone. She also served as an Adjunct Professor for Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center's Florida Bar Ancillary Program, where she prepared students for the Florida Bar Exam while mentoring them and providing individualized guidance.
Community service
Meaghan donates her time by providing pro bono legal services, has served on several occasions as a pro bono Guardian Ad Litem, and has volunteered with the Mission United Veterans Project of Legal Aid Service of Broward County. She also co-founded and served as Director of Compliance of The SAILS Institute, a Miami non-profit providing support, advocacy and life-skills services to LGBTQ young people (2013-2015).
